Events scheduled for IPSF Congress 2006 include all of the following:

  Welcome Party

The first night's Welcome Party is bound to set the pace for the rest of Congress. What better way to break the ice than with a few drinks and some bungy jumping. Yes, the Welcome Party is to be held at the AJ Hackett Bungy function centre at Smithfield Heights and all attendees will have the opportunity to try their hand at bungy jumping and related activities. For those who lack the nerves for bungy jumping, try the jungle swing. Click here for more bungy information (a new window will open - close it to return to this page).

  Pub Crawl

An Australian institution (which probably has differently-named variants in every other country), the Pub Crawl is a night of commuting between pubs and bars, sampling the wares of each along the way.

  Great Barrier Reef

Take a full day trip on a cruiser especially chartered for the IPSF Congress out to a coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef. This all day tour gives people the opportunity to either snorkel or dive on a reef in the Coral Sea. For those who wish to Scuba dive (no experience is required) there will be an additional fee of $99, payable at time of onsite registration. Dive instructors will accompany divers. For those who do not want to snorkel or dive, there is the option of a glass bottom boat look at the reef. Lunch and all snorkel/dive equipment included.

  Indigenous Australian Night

The Indigenous Australian night will show participants something of ancient Australian aboriginal culture. The hosts will prepare a traditional indigenous feast cooked slowly underground using palm leaves in a millenia-old technique. As well as this, participants will be taught ancient bush skills and dances.

  Beach Party

The beach party will be a tropical-themed night providing the freedom for everyone to party indoors where music and a bar are provided or wander across the road to Ellis Beach to soak in the beauty of the surroundings under the stars.

  Development Fund Auction

A regular event on the IPSF Congress social calendar, the Development Fund Auction is used to raise money to help less developed nations send delegates to future IPSF Congresses. Items for auction are donated by participants and typically include pieces of pharmacy or non-pharmacy memorabilia from your home country.

  International Night

Another perennial IPSF favourite, the International Night gives you a chance to indoctrinate your international colleagues with your own country's culture. Wear your national dress, bring your national drink, and prepare a song, skit, dance or whatever you like to perform in front of the delegation to show them what your country is about.

  Gala Ball

The Gala Ball, held on the closing night of Congress, wraps things up with a bang. A sophisticated, black-tie affair, the Ball will mark celebrations for the end of a fantastic Congress, the end of the terms of the old IPSF Executive and the commencement of the new and IPSF and pharmacy in general!
